2010 ASGCT Outstanding New Investigator Award
The American Society of Gene & Cell Therapy is pleased to announce the 2010 Outstanding New Investigators Awards!
Up to four Outstanding New Investigators will be recognized at the ASGCT 13th Annual Meeting based on their contributions to the field of gene and/or cell therapy.
Criteria for this award include:
- Nominees must be 7 or fewer years out from their first full-time assistant professor or equivalent position;
- Candidates must be Members in good standing of the Society;
- Candidates must be independent investigators (in the judgment of the ASGCT Advisory Council) conducting original research in basic science, technology development and/or clinical translation in the field of gene and/or cell therapy;
- Candidates must be nominated by two (or more) ASGCT Active Members in good standing;
- Awardees must be available to give a presentation of their work at the 13th Annual Meeting in May 2010 in Washington, DC, USA.
Awards shall be in the amount of $1,000 per investigator, plus a waiver of the 13th Annual Meeting registration fee. As all Members are expected to support the Society by attending the Annual Meetings, all other meeting-related expenses will be the responsibility of the awardees.
The Outstanding New Investigator Awards and the Annual Meeting abstract submissions and review
are two separate programs. The Outstanding New Investigator Awards are not abstract driven.
Nominations for the Outstanding New Investigator Award must be submitted by two or more Active Members of the Society to the ASGCT Executive Office no later than March 9, 2010. Nomination letters should provide an overview of the candidates’ contributions to the field of gene and/or cell therapy, as well as address their status as an independent investigator. Please include copies of the nominees’ CV and PDFs of their two best papers. Nominees must be Active Members in good standing of the Society. All nominations will be thoroughly reviewed by the ASGCT Advisory Council. Awardees will be asked to present an overview of their work at the 13th Annual Meeting.

Nominations must be submitted electronically and include:
- Two or more separate nomination letters from Active Members (500 words or less)
- Curriculum Vitae and Bibliography of nominee
- PDFs of nominee's two best papers
- Nominations are due March 9, 2010
