Position Description:  

The Surgery Branch/NCI is seeking scientists (M.D. or Ph.D.) with training in immunology, molecular biology, or virology. Research is centered on the goal of developing cancer gene therapy using adoptive immunotherapy. Examples of gene transfer systems under investigation included both viral (lentiviral and retroviral vectors) and non-viral (DNA transposon-based) systems. Experimental targets include the transfer new genes designed to enhance T cell function or to modulate the expression of endogenous genes. Work will be performed in the department headed by Dr. Steven Rosenberg. During the 2008 ASGT meeting in Boston interested applicants may contact Dr. Yangbing Zhao (240-441-4785).
