We Currently Have The Following Opportunity:

Director/Sr. Director of Delivery Biology

This exciting new position will require establishing and leading a multidisciplinary group focused on the unique challenges of the delivery of RNAi and other therapeutics as well as contributing to the development of a world-class RNAi technology platform. The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for coordinating and/or directing the targeting and delivery aspects of therapeutic programs within the RTC. These programs will be focused especially on RNAi, but may also include other biotherapeutics and the targeted delivery of small molecules. In addition, this position will play a key role in crafting the strategic direction and coordination of RNAi delivery work being performed by other Pfizer groups and academic and other external partners.

You will plan and direct the targeting and delivery aspects of RTC drug development programs, and contribute to the overall R&D strategy through membership on the site leadership team; coordinate basic research activities relating to biology, chemistry and biochemistry of drug delivery and RNAi; and provide technical assistance for business development activities including evaluating potential in-licensing opportunities.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline, preferably with specific experience working with drug delivery and/or RNAi development for therapeutic applications. A minimum 10 years experience post-doctorate in academic or industrial research environment; 3 years experience in biotechnology or pharma environment; previous management or project leader experience particularly in a matrix environment; demonstrated success in technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaborations with others and independent thought; the ability to draft and critique technical information for regulatory submissions; the ability to work on complex problems where analysis of situation or data requires in-depth evaluation of various factors; and the ability to exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria in the presence of conflicting inputs are all required.
