Invitation

Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to invite you to the 7th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Gene Therapy (ASGT), which will take place June 2-6, 2004, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The program planned for this year is at the forefront of science and education. The Society’s committees have been working diligently on organizing workshops and symposia, and recommending topics and speakers. I would like to thank them for all of their hard work in the difficult task of forming the scientific program.

The 7th Annual Meeting includes the George Stamatoyannopoulos Lecture presented by Harriet Robinson, PhD; the Presidential Symposium featuring Gordon Keller, PhD, and Catherine Verfaillie, MD; 22 education sessions, 14 state-of-the-art scientific symposia, 15 workshops, oral and poster sessions selected from submitted abstracts; Meet-the-Investigator lunch sessions; and two corporate symposia. Some of the topics to be covered include stem cells, gene-based vaccines, immunology of gene therapy, clinical trials, tissue engineering, infectious diseases, musculo-skeletal disorders, neural disorders, international harmonization of regulatory standards, respiratory tract disorders, and non-viral and viral gene transfer. All of these sessions feature remarkable scientists in gene therapy and other related fields of interest.

Please join us in Minneapolis for the American Society of Gene Therapy’s 7th Annual Meeting, June 2-6, 2004. I look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,

Donald B. Kohn, MD
President

P.S. – Minneapolis offers great meeting facilities and hotel rooms at affordable prices and is easily accessible from throughout the country. Join us for an outstanding scientific meeting in a terrific location!
